Welcome to the Olympic Museum situated in Lausanne – the Olympic Capital. This renowned cultural institution is the official home of the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of Olympic heritage. Immerse yourself in the exhibitions, take part in cultural and activities, explore the sculpture park, shop in the boutique or enjoy the museum's panoramic restaurant overlooking Lake Geneva. Experience the excitement of the Olympic Games. The flame is yours!
Audioguide available in 9 languages: free of charge, from your smartphone and without downloading (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish).
Recommended duration visit : 1.5 hour.

Guided visit
This workshop takes students on a voyage of discovery through the mysteries of Olympia, immersing them in the universe of the ancient Olympic Games and their legacy.
Students will explore historical reconstruction methods, from excavations to experimental archaeology. In order to understand how sport disciplines have evolved over time, they will compare the equipment used by the very first athletes with those used today and reproduce the sporting scenes immortalised on antique vases. They will be able to take part in fun and interactive activities to teach them about how the competitions of the past have inspired the Games as we know them today.

Duration : 60 minutes.
Age : 4-12 years.

Explore the inspiring world of the Olympic Games with a self-guided tour of the permanent and temporary exhibitions. Students will be able to delve into the fascinating history of the Olympic Movement, sporting achievements and values that transcend borders.
The museum offers a range of materials to accompany your class visit.Recommended duration visit: 1,5 - 2 hours.

Through artefacts, images, questions and activities, they will discover how these fascinating objects are made. They will also discuss the medals’ symbolic value, the materials used to produce them and their iconography – including which winged figure appears on the Olympic Summer Games medals, and why this is different for the Winter Games.

Dans le cadre de l’exposition "Le sport à l’épreuve", le Musée Olympique propose une rencontre avec la photographe Hélène Tobler qui a notamment couvert les Jeux Olympiques de Turin et Pékin. En croisant son regard artistique et documentaire avec celui de notre équipe de médiation et des archives photographiques – qui a également participé à la conception de l’exposition – cette visite offre un éclairage inédit sur la représentation du sport, du mouvement et des corps à travers l’image.À partir d’une sélection de ses œuvres et d'autres issues des collections du Musée Olympique et de Photo Elysée, la photographe partagera son expérience, son approche et ses réflexions sur la manière dont la photographie peut traduire l’émotion, la performance ou encore la mémoire des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques.Cette visite est un moment privilégié pour dialoguer avec une photographe au parcours singulier, qui place l’humain au cœur de son travail et interroge le monde à travers la pratique de l’image.
